Boardwalk Las Vegas

Boardwalk Las Vegas opened as the Boardwalk Holiday Inn the same year as Caesars Palace, 1966. Boardwalk had a Coney Island (New York) theme and may have confused some visitors since there wasn't any kind of beach or waterfront involved with the property. Boardwalk closed after 40 years in business and was replaced with Mandarin Oriental which is now the Waldorf Astoria, along with Aria, Vdara, Veer Towers and Crystals Mall; which were initially known as Project City Center.
