Luxor Las Vegas

Luxor Las Vegas as seen in 2004. That's not Mandalay Bay in the background, it's Delano (formerly THEhotel). In 2004, Delano was a second room tower to Mandalay Bay, so it had the Mandalay Bay name on it. Luxor was very popular when it opened in 1993, it's the only pyaramid hotel in the world. It's not just a facade either, the structure is an actual pyramid. It's also connected to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur via indoor walkways. We've stayed here 3 times.

We had room 19027 in the Luxor pyramid around 1995 (Luxor also has 2 standard room towers that were added in 1997). This is what you see when you step out of your room, just empty space with other room doors lining the walls, and the casino down below. The lower and upper floors of the pyramid are like a standard hotel, however. I think it's floors 1 thru 5 and 25 thru 30. If you get a room below the 10th floor, you may hear noise from the casino, especially slot machine sound effects and music.

The Luxor casino and lobby in 1995. The person in the bottom right corner of the lobby image offers a perspective of the size of the statues.

The RA nightclub was in the Luxor from 1997 to 2007.
