urbanphotos.net Las Vegas casino cocktail waitress photos
While it's currently no big deal to walk through a casino taking photos and shooting mobile phone videos, photography in Las Vegas casinos used to be frowned upon and in some cases not allowed; so it was a challenge to get the casino staff to pose for a photo.
Dealers, pit bosses, floor bosses, and janitorial staff usually had plain nondescript attire but the cocktail waitresses often had festive costumes that helped the casino seem more like a unique place than just another casino.

Cocktail waitresses at the Aladdin Las Vegas, which became Planet Hollywood in 2007. This photo is in the "new" redesigned Aladdin that existed from 2000 to 2007. Aladdin was one of the few casinos that allowed photography, but shooting video was not allowed.

A friendly bartender at the Aladdin Las Vegas. His outfit is not nearly as festive as the cocktail waitresses.

Caesars Palace Las Vegas in the late 1990s. Caesars Handmaiden is shown in the first 2 photos; a cocktail waitress is shown in the third photo. I'm unsure if they still do this but Caesars Palace used to have characters in costume wandering the casinos, such as the Handmaiden, along with Cleopatra and Caesar himself. The name Caesars Palace doesn't have an apostrophe in it because the intention is to show that the property belongs to the guests, who are all "Caesars"; rather than belonging to Caesar; in which case the name would be Caesar's Palace.

Cleo & Caesar at Caesars Palace Las Vegas around 1995. Caesars Palace has 3 casinos along with the Forum Shops mall, it's huge.

Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas cocktail waitress. Hard Rock became the Virgin Hotel in 2020, and Hard Rock Hotel is currently taking over the former Mirage location. They're expected to open in 2027.

Mandalay Bay cocktail waitresses. These outfits were replaced a few years later when MGM Mirage resort properties began using the same uniforms for all MGM Mirage properties. MGM Mirage is now known as MGM Resort Properties. Other than the MGM Grand, the MGM Resort Properties are all on the west side of the strip (Park MGM, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, NY NY, Bellagio, Vdara and Aria.) Phil Ruffin now owns Treasure Island and Circus Circus. Caesers Entertainment owns Caesars Palace and a bunch of resorts on the east side of the strip (Horseshoe, Cromwell, Flamingo, Harrahs, The LINQ, Nobu Hotel, Paris, Planet Hollywood.)

Cocktail waitress at Rio Suites Las Vegas. This photo was taken shortly before the Rio replaced cocktail waitresses with "bevertainers" in 2003. Bevertainers did the same job as cocktail waitresses, but also had to sing or dance once every hour. The idea was not expected to be successful but it was. Bevertainers were still employed at the Rio in 2011 but I'm unsure when they switched back to "regular" cocktail waitresses.
