Sahara Las Vegas

The Sahara as seen from the Strat observation deck and from Las Vegas Blvd. Sahara was where we stayed during our first visit to Las Vegas in 1992. It's a nice property towards the north end of the strip by Circus Circus and Fontainebleau. The Sahara closed in 2011 then reopened as the SLS in 2014. They changed the name back to Sahara in 2019.
The Sahara front entry/lobby as seen in December 2024. I don't think any other property in Las Vegas would put a camel next to a Christmas tree.
These photos of Sahara were taken in December 2019. Although Google says the name was changed from SLS to Sahara in August 2019, the SLS name was still being displayed in December. The second photo is of the same lobby shown in the December 2024 photo with the camel and Christmas tree. SLS didn't have a theme.

Sahara casino and front lawn around 1992. The Sahara's theme is basically the Sahara Desert rather than a particular city or country.
